Appendicitis and a guitar

About two weeks ago, I had an interesting development. I started having pain in my lower abdomen while I was at work. The next day, I went to the doctor and was immediately rushed to the emergency of UNM hospital. Turns out I have appendicitis and need immediate surgery. Next few hours went by and I spent most of the day waiting at the emergency room and reading through a couple of short books. Finally at around midnight, it was my turn to have the surgery. So they took me in and I fell asleep.

It was a laparoscopic appendix surgery and took about three and half hours. When I woke up early in the morning the next day, the attending nurse told me that I was already released from the hospital. My first concern
was how long it would take to recover as I am fairly outdoorsy, bike a lot and would like to back on track as soon as possible. But the doctor forbade strenuous activities for the next six weeks. Although I got little bit demoralized upon hearing that, I was thinking of something else to help me get through this period.

I have always wanted to learn to play guitar, but never got a chance to take lessons. So after the surgery, I finally decide it was time to get a guitar. Long story short, I ended up getting a Fender FA-100 entry level acoustic guitar from guitar center. Now heading over to justin guitar to get some lessons.
